Nadin Pospech Demmler
Nadin Demmler was born in Leipzig, Germany. She focused on becoming a chef from a very young age completing her three year chefs’ apprenticeship at the Hotel Intercontinental, Leipzig in 1996.
During the period following her apprenticeship Nadin gained extensive experience in a number of Europe’s top restaurants. Listed among these are: Hotel Schloss Fuschl – Salzburg Austria (Classic French Cuisine), Anton Mosimanns’ Belfry – London (Nouvelle Cuisine) and Fischerzunft – Schaffhausen Switzerland – 1 Michelin Star (Euro-Asian Cuisine) and a stage at Gordon Ramsay’s Restaurant in London- 3 Michelin Star.
Her South African career started in 2000 at the prestigious Grande Roche Hotel in Paarl, where she focused on their pastry section in particular and decided to move to South Africa for good.
During her working career in South Africa she had worked at the top Restaurant Aubergine, The Table Bay Hotel, 5 Star exclusive Ellerman House as well at the Relais Chateaux, Cellars-Hohenort Hotel in Cape Town.
It was during her period at the Cellars’ Greenhouse restaurant and teaching part time at Varsity College, that the idea of starting an up-market cooking school for enthusiastic cooks and food aficionados started to germinate. And voila, beginning 2008 Top Nosh was born.
Apart from running Top Nosh, Nadin has been a member of the Culinary Team South Africa from 2009 to 2014. She competed at the Culinary World cup 2010 in Luxemburg and won 2 silver medals; competed at the Culinary Olympics 2012 in Erfurt/ Germany -1 silver, 1 bronze medal and took part at the Igeho Salon de Culinaire Mondial 2013 in Basil/ Switzerland, bringing home a bronze medal. Since 2014 Nadin is judging internationally on big culinary events like the Culinary World Cup in Germany.
